About Us

We are soon to be one of the largest housing providers in Somerset. We are proud to provide safe, affordable, healthy homes for the people who need them most.

Here at Homes in Somerset, our customers are at the heart of everything we do.

We’re the largest housing provider in Somerset. We ensure good quality, safe homes, are provided to the people who need them most.

We began life Homes in Sedgemoor, managing homes across the region, and then in April 2025 we rebranded as Homes in Somerset. We decided to change our name following the transfer of Somerset Council’s Development Team to our organisation. This team manages the current and future development programmes for new affordable homes across Somerset.

Just a few of our accolades include a Top 50 Landlords Award, Investors in People Gold Award, and UK Customer Experience Awards, and we’ve got big plans for the future.

We are driven to be the best managing agent in England and we plan to do this by upholding our values and working towards five core strategic themes.

Our Story

Our Vision and Values

As one of 15 Arm’s Length Management Organisations (ALMOs) across the UK, we pride ourselves on delivering the very highest standards.

We offer a range of housing solutions from one-bedroom bungalows to four-bedroom houses and all things in between. In addition, we can provide sheltered housing for anyone needing extra support, and Extra Care housing, where support staff can be available.

Our Extra Care Housing is perfect for anyone with an assessed care need and allows our customers to live as independently as possible, in the security and privacy of their own homes.

We also offer further support through our Independent Living Service, available at 43 locations across Somerset, where customers have access to a team of staff that provides tenancy sustainment, support, and the reassurance of a 24/7 alarm system in case of emergency. It gives peace of mind to those who want independent living and allows for social engagement, with access to a communal hub or lounge area, where social activities are held.

We’re proud of our work and our engagement within the community, and we continue to measure and demonstrate our performance by carrying out a STAR (Survey of Tenants and Residents) assessment every quarter, which we publish online for everyone to access.
